What will happen in a Session?

First we will discuss the reason for you coming to see me, and any background information that will help us form goals together and decide on what you would like to achieve from the session.

Once we have agreed your goals and established how you are going to reach them, we can begin to increase your ability to relax deeply and practise using your imagination in a positive way. When several sessions are involved, we might set tasks to help you chart your progress. Often, however, your goals can be achieved in a single session.



Anxiety and Depression

If you are feeling low, sleeping badly and finding it difficult to concentrate, then hypnotherapy can help you find that enthusiasm for life you are lacking.

When the imagination is used to frighten (what if everything goes wrong?) rather that to encourage (what if I do well and am successful?) then the body goes onto 'high alert', sensing danger is round the corner all the time.

This leads to a feeling of anxiety all the time, draining you of energy, disrupting your sleep and leaving you tense and low. Five or more sessions are needed to bring you back to feeling better:

Workshops

Fear of Flying

This is a common phobia, sometimes linked to feelings of discomfort about not being in control which might also arise when being driven in a car.  The unconscious mind is often tapping into imaginary fears or a past experience and attempting to protect you from a possible danger.  The result is vastly narrowed horizons, attempts to go abroad avoided or agreed to with a sense of dread and rising panic as the holiday looms.

Hypnotherapy will change the way the unconscious mind views the past memories or imagined fear so that you are able to look forward to traveling and using air travel as a convenient and relaxing way to reach your chosen destination.

Stopping Smoking

Today could be the day that you begin to respect your body and value your life!

If you are a smoker and have tried to quit or would like to quit, congratulations, you are thinking of taking a positive step towards better health, finances, energy levels...

There is so much evidence about the harm cigarette smoking inflicts on your body, but you know that already. 

Smoking becomes habitual and linked with certain triggers which are completely unconscious.  Once these have been established and a new healthier alternative pattern agreed, Nicola will teach you how to relax yourself and during hypnosis the old triggers can be changed to lead to healthier actions.  Call Nicola and she will answer any other questions you might have.
